At Gibson Veneer & Plywood (GVP), we specialise in natural, high quality timber veneers, plywoods and timber veneered panels. With more than 120 domestic, exotic and burr finishes to choose from, we're certain to have the veneer you need to complete any project. A special connection with the marine industry.
In New Zealand, GVP sells the Plyman brand of marine related plywoods and panels. We can supply panels from 1.5mm to 50mm thick, interior plywoods and veneered boards, special pre-finished white laminate and panels, as well as paper-backed flexible wood veneer sheets (Waveneer) in a wide range of species. GVP has also developed a range of PVC marine foam core, nidaplast core, and end grain balsa core veneered panels for hi-tech, super lightweight components in marine joinery and fittings. This is an exciting first for New Zealand, and possibly worldwide, because it eliminates the need for boat builders to vacuum bag or press their own components.
In association with Pyrotech Ltd we have also developed and custom make sound barrier panels with plywood faces and sound barrier core products. These are used extensively in superyacht construction.
The list of respected boat builders who use GVP wood veneers, plywoods and composite marine panels is impressive. GVP supplies specialist veneer, and plywood and panel requirements to yards of all sizes - from super yacht builders to classic launch specialists. Hobbyists restoring old boats are also regular customers at GVP.
